Carolina Beach Fishing Charters FAQ

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions about booking a Carolina Beach fishing charter with Wild Rover III Fishing Charters.

How much does it cost to go deep sea fishing in Carolina Beach?

Prices start at $500 for a 3-hour trip, and a full day (10 hours) is typically around $1600 for up to 6 people.

Is fishing good at Carolina Beach?

The fishing north of Cape Fear is excellent. We have extensive bottom structure that holds a wide variety of fish throughout the year.

How much does it cost to charter a fishing boat in NC?

Rates typically start around $150 per hour for up to 6 people, depending on the type of trip and boat.

Do you charge a fuel surcharge?

No, we do not charge a fuel surcharge. Be careful—some boats advertise a low price but add a fuel surcharge later. Always ask when comparing prices.

How many people can go on a charter boat?

Most Carolina Beach charter boats are "6-packs," meaning you can bring up to 6 people — regardless of whether they fish. U.S. Coast Guard regulations apply. We cannot exceed this limit.

Do I need to bring my own rod and reel?

You are welcome to bring your own gear, but it is not required. We provide high-end, well-maintained rods, reels, and tackle for all types of fishing trips.

What do I need to bring?

Bring food and drinks for the trip, along with a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and close-toed shoes. Cans are preferred over glass bottles for safety.

Do we need a fishing license or permit?

No. We carry a blanket charter fishing license that covers everyone onboard.

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes. You are welcome to bring whatever you like. Just act responsibly and have a good time. Again, we prefer cans to glass containers.

Do I need a cooler?

We have ample space on the boat for your catch during the trip. You may want to bring a cooler for your car to transport fish home.

Will you clean our fish?

Our mate will typically clean your fish for tips or for an agreed-upon fee.

Do you accept credit or debit cards?

Yes. Please note that our base prices are based on cash payments. We charge an additional 3% convenience fee for credit or debit card payments.
